Dancin’ Dynamites Competition started in 2006 spans a period of three (3) months and 1 week allowing for a thirteen (13) week promotion. Top 10 dance trios are selected from an Island-wide search & weekly dancers present their 2 minute routine on television.

The show which attracts an audience of over one (1) million viewers in Jamaica is aired on Saturdays 8:35 pm and repeated on Tuesdays at 10 am and Thursdays at 5:30 pm on Television Jamaica (TVJ)

Viewers vote weekly for their favourite dynamites. Bi- weekly, the dance trio with the lowest votes or Likes is eliminated.

One of the objectives of the show is to widen Jamaica’s appreciation of different cultures and different dances. As such each week dancers randomly select a genre and are given one week to prepare their dance for television. Edna Manley School of Dance and Excelsior Community College provide specialists for dancers who may find any genre difficult to execute.

The entire promotion runs from January to May allowing for major branding and presence.

Prizes also include surprise gifts from the Title and Major sponsors.

The weekly competition enjoys an audience Caribbean islands, Canada & The United States particularly in Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Staten Island and Queens through CIN TV (Channel 73 Sundays at 5:30 pm).
